First off I have to say I'm quite dissapointed about this album, it's not because the album is a mix between folkmusic and hiphop, it's just to dark and drowsy I think.. Well one or two tracks is ok but the rest is just .. yeah too dark. But yeas it is good music and the tunes are beutiful but aint really coming anywhere. Anyway, this is Eligh from Living Legends together with his mother; Jo Willkinson including Grouch, Pigeon John, Slug, my boy Jiro of Ozomatli, Robert Miranda (think Enigma )..and many others..of course. Eligh's there a few times and has produced 8 of 13 tracks. And here are a few words from Sage Francis: "It's a great rarity to hear a music project shared between mother and son. It's an even greater rarity for the folk world and hip-hop world to meet at the halfway point without one dominating the other. This is a hybrid of music genres that infuses so many styles that you're not sure whether to throw your hands up and say 'ho!' or hold hands and sing along. That's a good confusion"

The duo of Cymarshall Law, out of Jersey, and Mr. Joeker, out of Hungary, have more chemistry than most duos within the same city have. The beats of Mr. Joeker lace the 14 track LP and the fiery and youthful stylings of Cymarshall compliments the high tempo, emotional, and far from generic production. The blend is so good that in the midst of a jam packed fourth quarter, Hip Hop in the Soul is what remains in heavy rotation. It is rather a familiar listen, but the skills of Cy and Joeker make it more than enjoyable and give the listeners a treat to warm up with; a very likable record.

Braille & SymbolycOne - Cloud Nineteen (2009)

This duo first collaborated on the song “Blessed Man” from Braille’s last solo record. During 2008 they stayed in touch and slowly started kicking around ideas of doing a full record together. Once both of their schedules cleared up they started creating new tracks. The chemistry was immediate and “CloudNineteen” was pushed to the forefront. After 5 months of creating material from long distance (S1 in Texas and Braille in Oregon) they finally met up in person to do the final sequencing. Rather then sitting on the record, they decided to bring it straight to the public as soon as possible. An eclectic list of guest artists including Shawn Lee (Ubiquity Records), Tony Cook (drummer from the JBs – James Brown band), Rob Swift, Vursatyl (of the Lifesavas), Lightheaded, Ragen Fykes, Strange Fruit Project, DJ Idull and Theory Hazit. Braille and S1 will be touring together in 2009 – which is an indication of how excited they are about this album.
